The scent cannons are a moving sculpture pice I created In 2023. They take the "high school science fair" project concept of vortex smoke rings and combines it with functionality maxing and scent. This is a open source idea made to show a contrast between what it means to be a artist in the digital age and and the functionality of art. 

The two cannons are fully operational and feature two scent drivers and two fog drivers each, which can be fire independent of eachother (invisible rings of scent, just rings of fog or both at the same time). They have a 360 degree turning radius and a ~25 degree angle up and down. They are made to go on eather side of a stage to complement the "above the crowd" area and are fire by hand ether into the air or at particularly smelly patrons.

The cannons interact nicely with lazers and projectors. We like to fire them sparingly (like for a hour or so every 3-4 hours) as a accent to the music and lights rather then constantly, like a good pirotecnician would. They can be used in wooded areas, cold and rainy conditions and can be used with certain scents to repel insects or cool off hot crowds. They can operate in light wind but tend to look better when they float and hang in windless environments.
